本片改编自一个真实的银行抢劫案。2006年，一群盗贼抢劫了位于阿卡苏索的里约热内卢银行，这被认为是历史上最著名、最聪明的银行抢劫案之一。他们抢劫银行所采用的方式和在那之后发生的一系列事情都让人惊讶不已。
《我的城》是一部记录城市凡人生活碎片，镜头下充满“凡人语录”的系列纪录片，也是中国少有的现实题材城市纪录片。首批拍摄了五座城市：北京、上海、成都、深圳和银川，描绘的是城市人特殊的“乡土情”。本片那些被纪录者，无论是北京篇里爱骑自行车的小伙，还是上海篇里卖啤酒的阿姨，或是成都篇里“二次元”装扮的小姐妹，或是深圳篇里大芬村（城中村）里的小画师，或是银川篇里卖羊杂的小老板，他们都是城市社会里人微言轻的小角色，所以他们脑海里没有城市定位、没有品牌宣传，有的只有活生生的现实：怎么活出自己的个性，活出味道来。一些生活碎片、闲谈碎语、生活片断，不经意间构成了城市的性格和精神、流露出对城市的理解与质疑。
三女儿为了证明自己没嫁错人，千方百计让三女婿学电脑学英文，但三女婿就是不成大器，这让三女儿很失望，夫妻关系亮起红灯。
优里是南部小镇上，平时以打撞球为赌赛，赚取零头花用的孤儿─撞球小子，透过网络与千金小姐阿茵相识、相恋，某日，撞球馆中来了一批来自台北、邵氏集团的人，目的是要跟弹子房讨论兼并的条件，带队的是一名撞球好手，外号叫快打旋风，他带着副手暴龙以及两名跟班，还有一名年轻的女孩，竟然正是阿茵。
