1995年，《水晶国传说》被搬到银幕上，剧场版的名称为《初次旅行的冒险者们》，监督乃中村隆太郎、脚本为远藤明范、人物设定由宝谷幸埝担当。1996年，《水晶国传说》推出3卷OVA，监督与脚本人选不变，人物设定改为松田胜己，内容乃紧接着剧场版之后邪神巴尔巴斯再度复活的故事。在1997年8月20日香港首播，译名为圣剑武士。
