本片改編自直木賞作家荻原浩人氣系列「環球廣告公司」的「花之櫻通」，是繼2016年改編的SP《廢柴父親變英雄》大受好評後全新升級的電視劇版本，主創班底不變，編劇仍為晨間劇《雛鳥》的岡田惠和，主演仍是澤村一樹。這也是澤村首度主演東京電視台連續劇，讓他制霸東京五大電視台的連續劇主演之位。故事講述广告精英杉山利史（澤村一樹）過去曾在大型廣告公司工作，當時十分得令，就在人生一帆風順的時候 ，他決定離開公司打算獨立，失敗後經過很多事，結果被港町冷清商店街弱小的「環球廣告公司」收留。雖然他從來沒說出口，但其實他深愛著廣告事業。
