故事发生在九十年代初，文物局司机王保银（萧浩冉饰）万事不顺，工作屡次无法转正。一筹莫展之际他意外发现了失踪多年的父亲所留下的遗物：一张龙脉地图和带有特殊标志的徽章。父亲本就是王保银的心结，而这一契机让急于证明自己的王保银开始对父亲失踪一事进行追查。于是，王保银在发小胖子强（包小平饰）和搬山道人的后人郑鑫（胡雪儿饰）的支持下，三人一同踏上了险象重重的西行路。一望无垠的荒漠中，吞人蚀骨的沙漠风暴险些要了三人的命，然而，虽有幸被当地原住民阿拉白、米丽（刘音饰）救出，却又很快被原住民误认为他们来者不善，遭到各种计谋追杀。此时，屡次入室王保银家的楚江平（李中奇饰）盗墓团伙也在此地现身。王保银三人在一次又一次的绝地求生后，终于找到神域入口，于是梦中的神秘幻象竟真的出现王保银的眼前：一片满是孢子的地下湖、隐约浮现邪神少女（曹禹澄饰）的影子，半空悬着的巨大的八幡船……
