本剧由曾执导《蓝色月光》的Glenn Gordon Caron担任制片和监制，他是一位曾获得艾美奖的金牌制片人。本剧取材于现实生活中灵媒大师Allison DuBois多年研究成果。艾美奖得主Patricia Arquette在剧中饰演一位年轻的妻子和母亲，她自孩提时代起就一直试图弄清在梦中所见的那些以死之人的事。
