本片将描绘被称为日本史上最大谜团的“本能寺之变”前一日，追踪这一谜团的历史悬疑电影。故事从现代的京都开始，正处于即将结婚的人生岔路上的茧子（绫濑遥 饰）住进了一家本能寺酒店，这是一家能够与战国时代相连的不可思的酒店，茧子在这里遇见了即将统一天下的织田信长。
